The quality of timelessness is the eternal essence that transcends time and change.
A part of us is unaffected by time and space, it transcends time, it is outside of time. It is outside of the dimension of time altogether.
The Tibetan Buddhists refer to this as the fourth time, not the past, not the future, not even the present, because the present is a flowing experience (Nunc fluans). If you try and grasp something in the present, it is already away.
Nunc stans (according to Christian mystics) is the timeless dimension, the part of us outside this movement of time.
